Job Title: Site Manager – Science Laboratory Refurbishment (School Project)
Location: Godalming, Surrey
Project Duration: 8 Weeks
Project Value: circa £200k
Start Date: July 7th
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the refurbishment of four general science laboratories located on the ground floor of an operational school science block. This is a high-profile, fast-paced project requiring exceptional coordination, communication, and attention to detail to ensure safe, on-time, and high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the day-to-day operations on site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to specification.
* Coordinate and supervise all site personnel and subcontractors.
* Liaise with the school, project team, and supply chain to maintain open and professional communication.
* Monitor health and safety on site in a live school environment and enforce site rules and safeguarding procedures.
* Ensure site records are accurately maintained, including progress reporting, health & safety documentation, and site diaries.
* Oversee the protection of existing finishes and utilities to minimize disruption to the school.
Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential – must be current and valid)
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
* CSCS Card (Manager Level)
* First Aid at Work certification
* Proven experience managing similar refurbishment projects, ideally within educational or live school environments
* Strong understanding of M&E coordination and laboratory-specific requirements is desirable
