Job Description – Site Manager (Sizewell C) Position: Site Manager Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Package Includes: Accommodation, car allowance/van, bonus and 10% pension Reports to: Project Manager / Construction Manager Role Overview The Site Manager will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of construction works at Sizewell C, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards, quality requirements, environmental obligations, and project programme. This role involves managing subcontractors, coordinating with design and engineering teams, and ensuring works are delivered in line with project governance and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day site operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of works. Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour, ensuring performance against programme, cost, and quality. Enforce site health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) requirements, in compliance with nuclear industry standards. Coordinate with engineering, planning, and quality teams to ensure design intent is delivered correctly. Maintain site records, progress reports, risk assessments, and permits to work. Ensure works are delivered to the highest quality standards, aligned with nuclear safety culture (right first time, zero defects). Drive programme adherence, identifying risks and opportunities to improve delivery. Chair site coordination meetings, toolbox talks, and daily briefings. Manage logistics, access control, and interface with other project areas. Support handover and assurance processes, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and regulatory approvals.Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Site Manager on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects (nuclear, power, rail, or similar regulated industries preferred). Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage a diverse workforce. Comprehensive knowledge of CDM Regulations, construction methodologies, and quality assurance processes. Demonstrated experience in managing subcontractors and delivering works to programme and budget. Strong safety mindset and track record of promoting a positive safety culture. Competent in IT systems (MS Project, Primavera P6 awareness, document management systems). Experience of working under NEC contracts desirable.Qualifications Degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification. CSCS (Black/Gold Card). Nuclear site clearance / security vetting (or ability to obtain). First Aid at Work certification (preferred).Core Competencies Safety leadership and commitment to nuclear safety culture. Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities. Resilience, adaptability, and ability to deliver under pressure
