Are you a Site Engineer, Site Manager, or Project Engineer with strong experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Construction environments? Do you enjoy interpreting technical drawings, coordinating contractors, and ensuring engineering projects run smoothly across time, cost, and safety?
We are looking for a detail-driven Site Project Engineer to join a major modernisation programme within a leading UK engineering and manufacturing organisation. This role sits within the Future Factory team and plays a key part in supporting the delivery of large-scale M&E and construction projects on site.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the Site Modernisation Manager with the day-to-day running of construction and M&E project activities.
- Reviewing, interpreting and analysing construction, mechanical and electrical drawings, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Monitoring project timelines, identifying risks or delays, and helping drive corrective actions.
- Maintaining key project documentation including schedules, master timing plans, and cost trackers.
- Preparing and developing safety documentation in line with HSE and internal procedures.
- Liaising confidently with subcontractors, the internal project management team, and wider stakeholders to keep project progress aligned and well-communicated.
- Attending meetings across safety, engineering, timing and cost to ensure clear visibility of issues and solutions.
For the successful candidate we are focusing on:
- Strong understanding of construction methodology and M&E installations.
- Experience reading and working from construction drawings, mechanical schematics and electrical schematics.
- Confident communication skills, particularly when working with contractors, engineers, and project leaders.
- Good organisational and documentation skills with experience updating schedules, plans or project trackers.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a busy project team.
- Qualifications such as BTEC Mechanical Engineering, Electrical qualifications, or similar construction/engineering certifications are highly desirable.
