About the Role
* Site Services And Utilities Engineer
* £50,000
* Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
As Utilities Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the performance, reliability, and compliance of all key site services that production depends on. From steam and refrigeration to compressed air and water systems, you’ll ensure everything operates at optimal efficiency while supporting continuous improvement across the site.
You’ll work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams, making you a key player in maintaining uptime and supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of all site utilities systems, including compressed air, steam boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, water treatment, and electrical distribution
* Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) to a high standard, while responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns
* Diagnose faults across mechanical and electrical systems, implementing robust and long-term solutions
* Manage and coordinate external contractors, ensuring all work is carried out under strict permit-to-work and safety procedures
* Drive energy and water efficiency improvements, monitoring usage and identifying cost-saving opportunities
* Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations such as PSSR, LOLER, and F-Gas, maintaining audit-ready standards at all times
* Maintain accurate records within the CMMS, ensuring all maintenance activities are logged and tracked
* Support site audits and inspections, working closely with quality and compliance teams
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and sustainability
What We’re Looking For
* A recognised engineering qualification (HNC/HND or apprenticeship) in electrical, mechanical, or building services engineering
* Proven experience working with site utilities in a manufacturing environment (food or FMCG highly desirable)
* Strong working knowledge of systems such as steam, refrigeration, compressed air, and water treatment
* Familiarity with permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and food safety standards
* A proactive, hands-on engineer with a solutions-driven mindset
