Sliding Head CNC Programmer and Setter – Monday to Friday, Days!
Source Solutions are working with a trusted and reputable employer in Portsmouth, who work very much on the cutting edge, to recruit an experienced Sliding Head CNC Programmer and Setter, on a permanent basis at their main site in Portsmouth, working a day shift Monday to Friday and utilising their experience to boost the department whilst helping to develop more junior staff.
The Sliding Head CNC Programmer and Setter is a key hire within the CNC/machining department and naturally requires someone with a good deal of sliding head experience, in both programming (Fanuc controls) and setting (Star mostly), whilst also either possessing previous experience with operating CNC, or at least an openness to learning this in order to become a complete all-rounder and expert within the department.
Additionally, the Sliding Head CNC Programmer and Setter, will have responsibilities such as the below:
* Carrying out part inspection using standard measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.)
* Ensuring components/products are produced to tight tolerances and quality standards
* Performing regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting
* Assisting in the training of less experienced staff
Sliding Head CNC Programmer and Setter Profile:
* Extensive experience with CNC sliding head lathes (Star or similar)
* Proficient in programming and editing using Fanuc controls
* Able to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
* Skilled in using precision measuring instruments
* Strong attention to detail and quality-driven
