SMT Operator
Are you detail-oriented, organised, and looking to grow within a hands-on manufacturing environment? We’re recruiting for an SMT Operator to join a well-established production team in Basildon.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with precision, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and is confident using basic IT systems. You’ll play a key part in preparing component kits for production, ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
* Accurately read and select kits and reels using numeric references
* Verify kit contents against production requirements
* Manage de-kitting and liaise with Stores to resolve shortages
* Follow SMT process flows and maintain high standards of workmanship
* Report any issues to the Team Leader promptly
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to ESD and safety protocols
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and be flexible to assist other departments when needed
What We’re Looking For
* Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors
* Comfortable working independently and within a team
* Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office and internal systems)
* Physically fit – able to lift, move, and carry components
* Willingness to learn and develop within a manufacturing setting
