Now Hiring: Social Work Assistant – Seaham, County Durham ✨
📍 Location: Seaham, with flexibility to work from other offices across County Durham
⏳ Contract: 3 months initially, potential for extension
🕒 Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 37 hours per week
If you have a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people, this could be the role for you. We’re looking for a caring and dedicated Social Work Assistant to join our team, supporting children in care to maintain important family relationships and better understand their personal journeys.
🔹 Your Role Will Include:
Supervising family time between children in care and their relatives, ensuring sessions are safe, purposeful, and supportive.
Helping with administrative tasks such as completing Strengths and Difficulty Questionnaires (SDQs) with carers and updating children’s dental/health records.
Delivering life story work to help children make sense of their experiences and histories.🔹 About You:
Professional experience working directly with children is essential.
Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with families.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel across the County Durham area required).🔹 What We Offer:
