Job Description

Ackerman Pierce is currently supporting a leading local authority within Bromley to recruit for a Social worker within the Adult Locality Team on a permanent basis paying up to £39,709 - £47,509 per annum plus £1,000 Golden Hello and £1,500 Annual Retention Allowance Main Purpose: To promote and maintain independence for vulnerable adults using a strengths-based approach. To protect adults at risk by the use of procedures to safeguard adults from abuse. To assess the needs of individuals and their carers in line with Care Act (2014) criteria. Together with the service users and carers, formulate and implement person-centred care and support plans Monitor, review and evaluate services in order to ensure that they are provided in accordance with eligible needs. Responsibilities include: Ensuring the ethos of wellbeing is adhered to when working with vulnerable adults and their carers. Participate in the operation of duty and respond accordingly to need, which will involve Safeguarding enquiries and Best Interest Assessment (BIA) when required. Provide an assessment service to individuals, their carers and other agencies in accordance with Care Act (2014) criteria. Initiate and co-ordinate care and support plans for and with individual service users and support plans for carers, in conjunction with professional colleagues and representatives of voluntary and private agencies. Supervise and support staff as agreed with Line Manager and in line with Council procedures. Offer support and advice as appropriate to service users and carers. Through the assessment and prioritisation of need, commission appropriate services and authorise expenditure on services within designated limits. Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of individual care and support plans. Review the needs of individual service users and carers. Maintain client records in accordance with Council policy. Respond to and where possible resolve complaints within the Council's complaints procedure. Respond to new and changed legislation in respect of Adult Services and implement as directed. Contribute to service development by providing information and suggestions for future services. Ensure effective use of all available resources including voluntary sector to meet the eligible needs of the adult. Participate in multi-disciplinary and inter-agency meetings and working groups and represent the Department as required. Co-ordinate, participate and where appropriate chair case conferences and planning meetings including Safeguarding meetings. Work across teams within the Division as and when needed. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Department/Section.Qualifications/Experience preferred: Social Work Degree/CQSW/CSS/DipSW/OT/RGN/RNMH/RMN with community experience. For qualified Social Workers, registration with Social Work England. Either be a qualified best interest assessor or be willing to undertake the Best Interest Assessor's Relevant experience of working with adults in the community and/or hospital settings. Working across a range of agencies and understanding their roles.Minimum Requirements: HCPC Registration 4 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you) Eligibility to work in the UK Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation, regulations and guidance such as national assessment framework. Knowledge of the range of services which are available to children and families and of the organisational framework within which they are provided.
