Job Description

Social Worker - Assessment Team (Dudley) Make a crucial difference in the early stages of child protection and safeguarding. Dudley Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our dedicated Assessment Team. This is a vital role, ensuring children and families receive timely and appropriate support at a critical juncture. About the Role: Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying needs and risks. Develop and implement effective initial care plans, ensuring children's safety and well-being. Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners (health, education, police) to coordinate responses and resources. Manage a caseload effectively, prioritizing urgent cases and adhering to statutory timescales. Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement. Requirements: Registered with Social Care England. Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified Social Worker. Experience in child and family assessment is highly desirable. Excellent assessment, communication, and case management skills. Strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies relating to children's social care. Ability to build rapport and trust with children, families, and other professionals. Commitment to person-centered practice and ethical standards.
