Job Description
A leading local authority in the South East is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join their Assessment Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families.
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, undertaking focused, analytical assessments and developing SMART care plans that reflect the council's commitment to safeguarding and child-centred practice. They will work within a supportive team structure, underpinned by reflective supervision and a strengths-based approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out high-quality assessments and interventions using the Signs of Safety model
Engage directly with children and families to understand their lived experiences
Prepare clear, concise reports for Child Protection Conferences, court proceedings, and other statutory meetings
Collaborate with multi-agency partners including health, education, and police
Maintain accurate case records in line with GDPR and council systemsSalary and Benefits:
£38,476 - £41,956 per annum
£5,000 market premia (payable in 12 equal instalments)
£2,000 annual retention payment after 1 years' service
Generous annual leave entitlement up to 30 days plus bank holiday

Hybrid working - working a minimum of 2 days in the office (Assessment Teams are office based for duty weeks
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Completion of the ASYE(Assessed and Supported Year in Employment)
Minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experiencein statutory children's services
Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding legislation, and court work
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicleDesirable:
Experience using MOSAIC or similar case management systems
Familiarity with the council's local procedures and policies
