Leicester City Council's Child in Need (CIN) Service is seeking a Level 3 Qualified Social Worker to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis. 🔍 About the Role: You'll work within a well-structured CIN team dealing with a range of Child in Need and Child Protection plans, court work, and care proceedings. We're particularly interested in social workers with strong court-based experience-this is essential for the role. You'll be supported by a team of experienced colleagues, including: 2 Service Managers 8 Team Managers Advanced Practitioners who collaborate closely with CIN workers as needed With an average caseload of around 20 children, you'll manage both individual and multi-family cases, often with 5-6 children per household and multi-generational involvement, requiring thoughtful, robust interventions and skilled relationship-building. ✅ What We're Looking For: Minimum 2 years' experience working within CIN, CP, and court proceedings Court-based experience is essential Ability to manage complex family dynamics and multi-agency relationships Full UK driving licence - must be a driver (central car user scheme applies) Confident in visiting families across the city and working flexibly 📅 Working Arrangements: Full-time: 37 hours/week (part-time considered) Hours: 08:30-17:00 (Mon-Thurs), 08:30-16:30 (Fri) Flexible working: 1-2 days/week in the office (Halford House), rest remote 9-day fortnight available Duty rota: approx. once per month, some overtime expected due to duty 🌱 Why Join Leicester City Council?
