Job Description
Position: Social Worker Childrens
Location: Lancashire County Council
As a Social Worker in the Family Safeguarding Team, you will play a key role in protecting children and promoting their welfare. Your work will focus on supporting children and families where there are complex safeguarding concerns.
You will:
* Work with children subject to Child Protection (CP) and Child in Need (CIN) plans.
* Carry out assessments, develop effective plans, and deliver interventions that improve outcomes for children.
* Complete court work, including preparing statements, attending proceedings, and giving evidence as required.
* Work collaboratively with other professionals, using a multi-disciplinary approach to safeguarding.
* Use strength-based, relationship-focused practice to support families and reduce risk.
What We’re Looking For:
* A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* Experience working in children’s services, particularly in safeguarding or statutory roles.
* The ability to manage a varied caseload and respond effectively to complex family dynamics.
* Confidence and competence in completing court work and managing legal processes.
* Strong communication and organisational skills, with a commitment to child-centred practice.
