Job Description

Children with Disabilities Social Worker Swindon Borough Council - 4 days a week in office Up to £40 per hour Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker dedicated to helping children with disabilities and their families thrive? Swindon Borough Council is seeking a skilled professional to join our Children with Disabilities Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference, with a competitive rate of up to £40 per hour. About the Role You will be an integral part of a specialist, multi-agency team that provides a holistic service to disabled children, young people, and their families. Your role will involve all aspects of social work, from initial assessment and child protection to long-term planning. You will be responsible for: * Conducting assessments to identify the needs of children and their families, as well as recognizing any risks and the need for protection. * Liaising with and advocating for children and families, working collaboratively with health services, schools, and other professionals. * Managing an allocated caseload and ensuring all statutory obligations and Council policies are met. * Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and completing all necessary administrative procedures. * Participating in supervision and training opportunities to support your professional development. * Contributing to service development and quality assurance. * Supervising students or less experienced staff where appropriate. This role requires a commitment to working in the office 4 days a week to support our collaborative, co-located team environment. About You You will be a qualified Social Worker with a degree in a relevant field and be registered with Social Work England. You should have significant experience in safeguarding and disability work and be committed to achieving the best outcomes for our most vulnerable children.
