We're working with Rochdale Borough Council to recruit enthusiastic, skilled, and experienced Social Workers to join the Family Support and Protection Service (Child Protection Team).
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of Rochdale's exciting transition to the Family Safeguarding Model - a multi-disciplinary, whole-family approach to improving outcomes for children. As part of this transformation, you'll work in co-located teams with specialist practitioners, providing early, coordinated, and effective interventions.
What You'll Do
Manage a Child Protection caseload, undertaking assessments, care planning, and direct work with children and families.
Carry out Section 47 enquiries, Child in Need and Child Protection assessments, and contribute to care proceedings where required.
Work closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues (including domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health specialists).
Contribute to family safeguarding meetings and ensure a strong whole-family approach to interventions.
Maintain clear, accurate, and timely case records in line with Rochdale Council policies.
Participate in reflective supervision and ongoing professional development.About You
We're looking for a confident and compassionate practitioner with a commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker (CQSW, DipSW, CSS, or Social Work Degree).
Registered with Social Work England.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Child Protection and Care Proceedings.
Sound knowledge of Children's Social Care legislation, child development, and safeguarding frameworks.
Strong analytical, communication, and recording skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.Why Join Rochdale
