Social Worker (Adults, Care and Support) Cornwall Council, 

 Are you a passionate and qualified Social Worker with experience working with adults in need of care and support? We are currently seeking a dedicated Social Worker (Adults, Care and Support) to join our dynamic team in North Kerrier East, covering the Redruth and Camborne areas. Agency Social Worker – Adult Services (Cornwall Council)
Location: Cornwall (hybrid – predominantly remote with required visits)
Rate: £32.50 LTD (inclusive of holiday pay) OR £25.38 PAYE (exclusive of holiday pay)
Contract Length: Initially 3 months (extension likely)
Start Date: 1st April 2026 (earlier start may be considered)
Hours: Full-time (job share considered)
Positions Available: 2 (with additional vacancies across multiple orders)

Role OverviewCornwall Council is seeking experienced Agency Social Workers to join their Adult Services team. This is a flexible, largely remote role, with a focus on delivering high-quality statutory assessments and support planning across designated geographical areas within Cornwall.
Work will be allocated based on locality rather than traditional mid/east/west divisions, allowing for more efficient and manageable caseloads.

Key Responsibilities
Undertake Care Act Assessments in line with statutory duties
Complete Care and Support Planning to meet individual needs
Carry out Mental Capacity Assessments and associated decision-making processes
Manage caseloads independently while meeting strict deadlines
Conduct face-to-face visits where required across Cornwall
Maintain accurate and timely case recordings
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong experience in:

Care Act assessments
Care and support planning
Mental Capacity Act and associated assessments
Ability to work autonomously and manage workload effectively
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
Requirements
Must have access to a car and be willing to travel within Cornwall
Must live within a reasonable travelling distance to complete visits when required
Flexibility to balance remote working with fieldwork
