Social Worker – Children’s Assessment Team | Derbyshire County Council 👶
📍 Location: Derbyshire, East Midlands
💷 Rate: Up to £39 per hour (DOE)
🕒 Full-Time | Contract Role | Hybrid Working Options
Derbyshire County Council is currently recruiting an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join their Assessment Team, playing a vital role in safeguarding and supporting children and families across the region.
As a frontline Social Worker, you’ll carry out statutory assessments, respond to new referrals, and work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure children’s needs are identified and addressed quickly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Complete child and family assessments under Section 17 and Section 47
🔹 Make timely decisions and manage risk effectively
🔹 Build relationships with children and families to understand their needs
🔹 Work in a fast-paced, supportive environment focused on positive outcomes
Requirements:
✅ Qualified Social Worker (SWE registered)
✅ Strong experience in children’s assessment/safeguarding teams
✅ Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices
✅ Able to work in or travel to Derbyshire as required
