Job Opportunity: Qualified Social Worker – Children in Care (Band H–J)
Location: BCP Civic Centre (Hybrid – Minimum 3 Days On-Site)
Contract: 13 Months
Rate: £45 per hour or 34.83 PAYE
We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children in Care Team on a 13-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people in the care system while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Role Overview As a Qualified Social Worker (Children) – Band H–J, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and support to children and young people in care. You will bring expertise in assessment, care planning, and relationship-building to ensure each child’s needs are understood and met effectively.
Key Responsibilities
🧒 Child-Centered Support
Deliver assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with best practice and statutory requirements.
🏠 Home Visits & Reviews
Conduct regular visits and review meetings to assess the child’s well-being and progress.
👥 Relationship Building
Build trusting relationships with children, families, and multi-agency professionals.
🤝 Multi-Agency Collaboration
Work in partnership with education, health, and other professionals to support the child’s development and outcomes.
📋 Accurate Record-Keeping
Maintain timely and thorough records of assessments, visits, and decisions in line with professional standards.What We’re Looking For
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Experience working with children in care or within children’s services
Strong communication, assessment, and relationship-building skills
A commitment to safeguarding and child-centered practice
Ability to manage a complex caseload and work under pressureBenefits
