Job Description
Role Overview:
As a Software Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful deployment and commissioning of Fortna's warehouse control software solutions across Poland and Eastern Europe. You will ensure the software integrates seamlessly with automated material handling equipment (AMH) and other control systems to deliver optimised warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute the commissioning and start-up of Clients Warehouse Execution Systems (WES) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) software on-site at customer facilities.
Collaborate with project teams to install, configure, and test clients software in conjunction with automation hardware (conveyors, sorters, AS/RS, robotics).
Perform software debugging, troubleshooting, and optimisations during commissioning phases.
Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) ensuring software meets performance criteria.
Interface closely with clients, automation integrators, and clients engineering teams to resolve issues and customise solutions.
Provide training and technical support to end users and client teams on software functionality and best practices.
Document commissioning activities, configuration settings, and lessons learned.
Adhere to project time lines, budgets, and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 2-3 year's experience in software commissioning, ideally within warehouse automation or industrial automation sectors.
Strong knowledge of software commissioning tools and environments, preferably in Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), or related automation software.
Experience with industrial control systems (PLCs, SCADA, HMI) and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, Modbus).
Proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging complex software and hardware integration's.
