Software Test & Validation Engineer
Advanced Engineering & Defence Technology
South East England, Kent region
Salary: £50,000 DOE + profit-related bonus & benefits

 A specialist engineering organisation delivering high-performance sensing and embedded systems is seeking a Software Test & Validation Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team.
 This role focuses on implementing robust verification and validation processes for software and firmware across complex electro-mechanical products, supporting projects from design through to customer acceptance.
 Key Responsibilities
  
Develop, document, and test software and firmware changes 
Maintain clear records of work in line with departmental procedures and ISO 9001:2015 standards 
Create and maintain test environments for software/firmware validation 
Participate in agile team events including stand-ups, planning, reviews, and retrospectives 
Support internal and external customers with troubleshooting software systems 
Act as a reference point for team best practice and provide support to other projects 
Undertake occasional UK travel for customer or supplier visits  Experience & Skills
  
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent (professional registration encouraged) 
Hands-on experience in software/firmware validation projects 
Strong background in C# .NET, C, C++ (LabVIEW experience advantageous) 
Experience testing safety-critical functions and supporting electro-mechanical products 
Full software lifecycle experience: documentation, design, development, testing, revision control, and maintenance 
Structured design methodology and Agile/Scrum familiarity 
High-level understanding of electronics advantageous 
Able to manage projects independently and meet deadlines
