Job Description
Are you an experienced Commercial Solar PV Designer with a passion for creating clear, client-ready proposals that make a real impact? This role is your chance to shape commercial solar projects from the very first client meeting.
You’ll be the technical lead at the proposal stage: meeting clients, conducting initial surveys, creating concept-level system designs, and producing professional reports that balance detail with clarity. Once projects are approved, installation engineers will take forward the in-depth technical surveys — but your work is what makes the deal happen.
You’ll also liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to ensure smooth grid connection approvals and compliance.
What You’ll Do
* Meet commercial clients and conduct initial site surveys.
* Design optimised PV layouts and run yield modelling.
* Produce professional reports and proposals (with marketing support).
* Liaise with DNOs for grid connection approval.
* Work with sales to present technical solutions confidently.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in commercial solar PV design.
* Proficiency in PVsyst, HelioScope, Aurora, AutoCAD, or similar.
* Ability to simplify technical designs into clear, client-friendly reports.
* Knowledge of DNO processes and regulations.
* Engineering background (Electrical / Renewable Energy preferred).
