Job Title: Solar PV Technical Manager Location: National Salary: £50,000+ (Depending on Experience) About the Company: Our client is a multi-award-winning principal contractor and retrofit specialist, delivering large-scale renewable energy and decarbonisation schemes across the social housing and domestic sectors. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality energy efficiency solutions at scale, they are expanding their in-house renewables team to meet increasing demand for Solar PV and battery storage installations. Role Overview: We are recruiting for a Solar PV Technical Manager to lead the technical delivery of solar PV and battery storage projects nationwide. This is a senior-level, operational role with responsibility for managing installation teams, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and acting as the MCS Nominated Technical Person (NTP). The ideal candidate will be a qualified electrician with hands-on solar experience and strong project and team management capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage end-to-end delivery of solar PV and battery storage installations Supervise both direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with MCS and health & safety standards Serve as the primary technical contact for clients throughout project delivery Oversee project timelines, site activities, and material procurement Conduct site inspections at key stages, including final commissioning and handover Compile and issue technical documentation and reports Manage DNO applications and grid connection processes Act as the MCS Nominated Technical Person (NTP) for the business Requirements: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent), AM2, and 18th Edition Valid Testing & Inspection qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent) Minimum 3 years' experience in the electrical industry At least 2 years' experience with domestic Solar PV installations Strong knowledge of battery storage systems and DNO/grid compliance Proven experience managing teams and technical delivery Full UK driving licence Desirable: Level 3 in Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) or equivalent What's On Offer: Competitive salary (£50,000+, depending on experience) Car allowance Permanent, full-time position Clear opportunities for career advancement Supportive, hands-on team environment Medicash healthcare scheme Company pension plan Involvement in impactful, nationwide renewable energy projects How to Apply: To apply, please send your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the role.
