Job Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on routine and complex housing and landlord-tenant issues.
Conduct litigation efficiently, including anti-social behaviour cases, tenancy fraud, and housing disrepair claims.
Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, claims, defences, and witness statements.
Assist in instructing external solicitors when necessary.
Develop in-house legal services to meet organizational needs.
Ensure effective communication between legal team and other departments.
Implement processes for efficient legal service delivery and advice.
Support witnesses in anti-social behaviour cases, including out-of-hours visits if needed.
Maintain accurate data records and share key information with relevant departments.
Stay updated with legal and regulatory changes affecting Housing Associations.
Support junior team members and assist senior team members.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and staff.
Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all activities.
Provide cover for other team members as required.
Person Specifications
Must Have
A valid Law Society Practicing Certificate or Bar Council certificate with litigation ability.
Experience in conducting litigation and providing legal advice.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Capability to work collaboratively within a team.
Nice to Have
Experience in housing management and landlord-tenant law.
Familiarity with the regulatory framework for Housing Associations.
Experience in developing legal processes and procedures.
Ability to support and mentor junior team members.
