Sous Chef – £37.5k+ package

We are currently seeking a Sous Chef to support our client's Head Chef and their kitchen team located in a 5 star luxury resort in the North of England. The ideal candidate will bring a background in Rosette kitchens or above and have a genuine passion for the finer culinary elements of food in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen.

The Role:
Lead and manage a team of chefs to ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest quality standards, while maintaining a safe, hygienic, and efficient working environment within assigned sections.
Support the achievement of kitchen gross profit targets through effective stock control, portion management, accurate product costing, and minimization of waste.
Communicate daily with approved suppliers to secure high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.
Oversee the quality and consistency of goods received, ensuring stock rotation practices are followed and all procedures are adhered to.
Create and manage departmental rotas, aligning staffing levels with business demands.
Develop and introduce new menu concepts, including detailed recipes and descriptions.
Conduct cook-offs, deliver training sessions, and provide detailed specification sheets for new menu items to both Kitchen and Front of House teams.
The Person:
Experience working in Rosette kitchens or above (required).
Strong all-around cooking skills; evidence of leadership, preferably at Sous level.
Ability to lead any given section and supervise junior staff at all times.
Positive, professional attitude and strong team player ethic.
