Academics is proud to be working in partnership with a SEN College based in central Birmingham. This college is a dynamic and forward-thinking educational setting with a strong commitment to creativity, inclusion, and excellence. We are currently in search for an experienced and qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join their team on a Temporary - Permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take a strategic leadership role in shaping SEND provision in a setting that values innovation, inclusivity, and student-centred practice.
The Role
As SENCo, you will:
Lead and continually improve the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Manage the full cycle of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring all legal and educational requirements are met.
Provide training, support, and guidance to teaching staff to ensure high-quality, differentiated teaching strategies are in place.
Track and monitor the progress of SEND learners, implementing timely interventions to support improved outcomes.
Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic and effective support for all SEND students.
Contribute to BCI's growth by promoting its inclusive approach to education, helping to attract new learners and establish the institution as a centre of SEND excellence.
Stay current with national SEND policy and ensure compliance and best practice are embedded throughout the setting.Candidate Requirements
We are seeking a committed and experienced professional who possesses:
A recognised SENCo qualification (mandatory).
In-depth knowledge of current SEND legislation, frameworks, and statutory responsibilities.
A proven record of success in improving outcomes for learners with additional needs.
Strong interpersonal, organisational, and leadership skills.
