SEN Teaching Assistant:
Location: Coventry
Weekly Salary: £450+
Contract Type: Temporary with potential for permanent placement
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

We are currently working with a dedicated specialist provision in Coventry that caters for children and young people aged 5–19 with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs as well as other Special Educational Needs (SEN). The school has a warm, nurturing ethos and a strong focus on helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive life skills.
We are seeking enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistants to join the team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is motivated by making a real difference in children’s lives and who thrives in a setting where every day brings new challenges and rewards.
This role would suit:
Someone who has previous experience supporting children with SEN or behavioural needs.
Individuals considering a career in teaching, psychology, youth work, or the wider education sector.
Candidates who are active, positive, and enjoy helping young people engage through creative and practical learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging, accessible lessons.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, promoting learning and positive behaviour.
Help to prepare, organise, and manage classroom resources.
Act as a positive role model, encouraging pupils to make good choices and develop social and emotional skills.
Foster an inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
Requirements:
Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable).
A genuine interest in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
A driving licence is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
