We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive secondary school in Newham. This role will involve working 1:1 with a student with special educational needs, providing tailored support both within our specialist Bridge Department and across mainstream classes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support to a student with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve personalised learning goals.
Work closely with the Bridge Department to deliver structured interventions and support social, emotional, and academic development.
Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and materials to meet individual learning needs.
Promote inclusion and encourage the student's participation in both classroom and wider school life.
Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and contribute to progress reviews.
Foster independence, confidence, and positive relationships with peers.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting students with special educational needs, ideally within a secondary school setting.
Be patient, reliable, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with young people.
Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Be proactive, adaptable, and committed to promoting inclusion and wellbeing.
Hold relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, SEN training) - desirable but not essential.
