Location: Bispham, Blackpool Start Date: September 2025 Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM (Term Time Only) £13.86 - £15 ph. Contract: Specific to supporting a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Qualification needed: TA qualification (L2/3) OR SEN experience. This is a school with exceptional standards on behaviour, education, staffing and character. The Role: We are looking for a highly motivated Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This crucial role will involve: Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs). Providing tailored support to help the child access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence and social development. Assisting with communication, social interactions, and managing sensory needs. Supporting the child's well-being and emotional regulation throughout the school day. Contributing to observations, assessments, and progress tracking.Working with a child with ASD is a rewarding experience that requires a specific approach. You can expect to encounter: Diverse Communication Styles: Children with ASD may communicate verbally or non-verbally, and some may use alternative communication methods. Patience and adaptability in understanding their unique expressions are key. Varying Social Interactions: Social cues can be challenging for children with ASD. You'll need to support them in navigating social situations and developing appropriate interactions. Sensory Sensitivities: Some children with ASD may be highly sensitive to certain sounds, lights, textures, or smells. Creating a calm and predictable environment is crucial. Need for Structure and Routine: Predictability and clear routines often provide comfort and security. Consistency in approach is vital. Specific Interests: Many children with ASD have intense interests.
