Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant 🌟
📍 Location: Wewlyn Garden City
🕒 Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
📅 Term Time Only
📌 Contract: Full-Time
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with complex and profound learning needs? Do you thrive in a setting where every day brings new challenges and rewards?
We are looking for a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team in a specialist school catering for pupils from Early Years to young adults with:
Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Severe Autism and associated needs
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience working with children or young adults with SEN, particularly those with complex needs.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
Confidence in supporting a wide range of communication and sensory needs.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families.
A genuine desire to make a lasting difference in the lives of students with additional needs.
A Child and Adult enhanced workforce DBS on the update service is required or willing to apply
The Role:
Supporting individual students or small groups with learning, personal care, and communication.
Assisting with sensory-based learning, physical needs, and therapeutic activities.
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that promotes independence and engagement.
Following EHCPs and behaviour support plans under the guidance of teaching and therapy staff.
