Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Special Needs Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Weston-super-Mare. In this rewarding position, you will work with children with complex needs and challenging behaviour, helping them access education, develop life skills, and build confidence.

Special Needs Learning Support Assistant
Location: Weston-super-Mare (BS23) North Somerset
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with special educational needs (SEN)
Assist teachers and the SENCO in developing and delivering tailored learning plans
Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
Support with personal care and physical needs where required
Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting concerns to appropriate staff
Encourage social, emotional, and academic growth through positive relationships
Help children stay engaged and motivated in lessonsRequirements:
Experience working with children with SEN or challenging behaviour
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent
Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or childcare (e.g. NVQ, CACHE) are advantageousWhy Apply?
