Special Needs Support Assistant
£150-£160

A professional, Outstanding, and nurturing Primary school in Newham are looking to welcome an experienced Special Needs Support Assistant to join their team in September 2025, on a 1 term long term supply basis. This may continue beyond December 2025. The Headteacher and senior team have created both an inclusive and engaging learning environment, allowing both its children and teachers to thrive and develop.
The Special Needs Support assistant will be based primarily in the schools' SEND base, working alongside a team of 5 adults who will overseee the priovison of 10 children. Children within the base will present a broad range of needs, with the Special Needs Support Assistant sharing responsiblity of supporting all childfren in the class on a rotational basis.
The Headteacher is welcoming of Special Needs Support Assistants who are fast thinkers, use initiative, and with a desire to support bose unable to access the main curriclum without support.
The school is based in the heart of Newham accessible from both East ham and Upton park station.
Requirements
The desired Primary Teacher will have;
A fully enhanced DBS registered to the update service, along with 2 professional references.
Experience of Supporting childfen with Autism and Physical needs
