Special Needs Teacher (SEN)
 Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire Pay: £130-£210 per day (Weekly PAYE) Contract: Full-time and part-time (temporary) Start Date: Immediate

Are you an SEN Teacher with experience supporting pupils with Autism, MLD, challenging behaviour, or complex learning needs?

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a number of trusts across the Peterborough area to recruit both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced professionals for a range of long-term and short-term positions. These schools offer well-equipped learning environments and access to a wide range of resources, enabling you to deliver engaging lessons and provide effective support to pupils.

About the Role

The schools provide specialist education for pupils aged 5-18 with a range of complex and significant learning needs, particularly within cognition and learning.

You will be working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition, as well as those with physical and sensory needs, supporting them through a tailored and inclusive approach.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant professional qualifications
Experience working as an SEN Teacher with a variety of needs
Strong communication skills, including the use of Makaton, PECS, or AAC (desirable)
Ability to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
Experience planning, preparing, and delivering lessons
Monitoring and assessing student progress
Attending parents' evenings and meetings
Working collaboratively with SLT, SENCOs, and external professionals such as therapists and medical teams
