Teaching Assistant - Special Needs School - Altrincham, Trafford

Salary: Dependent on experience * Contract: Full-time, term-time only
 Start date: January 2026

Pictor Academy is a warm, welcoming and ambitious special school in Timperley, dedicated to supporting children with a range of learning needs, including complex and communication difficulties. We are seeking a committed, caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our highly skilled team and help us continue providing exceptional learning experiences for our pupils.

About the role:
 As a Teaching Assistant within a Special needs school, you will:

Support pupils with their learning, communication and personal development

Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver engaging, individualised support

Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

Use creativity, patience and positive behaviour support strategies to help pupils thrive

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues

We are looking for someone who:

Is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs

Has excellent communication skills and a calm, supportive approach

Is willing to learn, reflect and work as part of a collaborative team

Is reliable, flexible and eager to contribute to school life

Ideally has experience working with children or young people with SEND (though training will be provided for the right candidate)
