Aspire are currently recruiting for a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic **SEN Teaching Assistant** to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of additional needs, including:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* ADHD
* Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
* Physical and sensory disabilities
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing one-to-one and small group support.
* Assisting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
* Implementing individual education and behaviour support plans.
* Supporting pupils with personal care where required.
* Promoting independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
* Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
* Recording pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
* Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Essential Requirements
**A minimum of 6 months' experience** working in an SEN setting or supporting children with additional needs.
* **A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle** (essential due to travel requirements).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A patient, caring and resilient nature.
* The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to individual pupil needs.
* The right to work in the UK.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable
* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience with PECS, Makaton, Team Teach, or other SEN-related training.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
* Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
