Flexible SEN Opportunities - Daily Supply & Short-Term Placements
Academics are expanding our SEN supply team across Leighton Buzzard and the surrounding areas, and we're looking for enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary schools.
We have a growing number of opportunities available for daily supply and short-term cover, making this an ideal role for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates, care workers, youth workers or anyone with a genuine passion for supporting children.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you could be supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, working with children who have a range of additional needs, including:
Autism / ASC
SEMH
ADHD
Speech and language difficulties
Learning difficulties
Complex additional needsYou will work alongside teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive, nurturing and positive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential.
What you'll be doing:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
Supporting children with additional needs both academically and emotionally
Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning
Supporting positive behaviour and engagement
Creating a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment
Building positive relationships with pupils and school staffWhat we're looking for:
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
Experience supporting SEN is advantageous but not essential
Experience in schools, care, youth work, sports coaching or similar settings will be considered
A patient, caring and adaptable approach
Someone who is confident supporting children with a range of needs
The flexibility to work across different schools and year groups
Graduates with an interest in education, SEN, psychology or child development are encouraged to applyWhat Academics can offer you:
£95-£110 per day, depending on experience
