About the Role
We are looking for a caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in Stourbridge. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
*
Provide individual and small group support to pupils with SEND, both in and out of the classroom.
*
Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities tailored to pupils’ needs.
*
Support pupils with a range of needs, which may include learning difficulties, autism, speech and language challenges, or social, emotional and mental health needs.
*
Help to implement personalised education and behaviour support plans.
*
Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and independence.
*
Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
*
Contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting pupils during break and lunch times where required.
Person Specification
*
Experience of working with children with SEND (in school, childcare, or similar settings).
*
Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
*
Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant.
