Specialist Provision Officer (Alternative Provision)
6 Months, potential of extension
Full-time (37 hours per week)
Hybrid working, 2 days in office per week
We are looking for a dedicated Specialist Provision Officer (Alternative Provision) to join our dynamic Provider Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the planning, commissioning, and contract management of specialist education provision to ensure the best outcomes for learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
About the Role
Support the operational delivery of commissioning activity for children and young people with SEND.
Work closely with Specialist Provision Managers and Officers to procure services, manage provider agreements, and monitor performance.
Ensure contracts are effectively managed, reviewed, and deliver value for money.
Monitor financial viability, quality of delivery, and contractual compliance.
Assist with service development by collecting and analysing data to inform decision-making.
Contribute to collaborative approaches across internal teams and external partners.
Play a key part in supporting co-production and compliance in all commissioning and procurement processes.What We're Looking For
A Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Knowledge of special educational needs provision, including alternative provision.
Understanding of the SEND reforms (2014) and local authority responsibilities around the Local Offer.
Strong data handling and reporting skills, including use of Microsoft Excel and business systems.
Experience in contract management, commissioning, and partnership working.
Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
