Job Title: Specialist SEN Teacher - Autism Resource Base
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience) + SEN Allowance
Contract: Full-time, permanent
An inclusive and welcoming primary school in Banbury is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Specialist SEN Teacher to join their Autism Resource Base (ARB) from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role, ideal for a qualified teacher with a passion for supporting children with autism and complex needs.
You will be joining a nurturing and collaborative team, led by a highly respected and supportive Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team. The ARB offers a small class environment of 10 pupils or fewer, with two experienced TAs providing additional classroom support.
What you'll be doing:
Planning and delivering tailored, engaging lessons that meet EHCP outcomes
Using specialist strategies and visual supports to promote communication and independence
Creating a structured and supportive learning environment for autistic pupils
Leading on behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques
Working closely with families, therapists, and outside agencies
Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to review meetings and reportsWhat we're looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
Experience or a strong interest in SEN, autism, or specialist settings
A calm, patient, and reflective approach to teaching
Knowledge of strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, or Makaton (desirable but not essential)
Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
