Specialist Teaching Assistant (TA) - SEN / Behaviour and SEMH support
Location: Blackpool and Fylde Coast.
Salary: £13.88 -£14.88 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: 32.5 hours per week, term time, temporary contract.
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant (TA) to join an outstanding Primary School in Blackpool who have an inclusive approach and welcome children with SEN/ SEMH. This rewarding role is ideal for someone with experience in care, education, or therapeutic support who is committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
The Role:
We are seeking a specialist TA to work alongside a child who will need 1:1 support with learning, attainment and participation in class. You will work alongside experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a safe, stimulating, and highly personalised learning environment. Part of the role will include adapting lesson content to suit the child, working with the Teacher to achieve objectives, feedback to the SENCO on the pupil's development and liaise with parents.

Essential Requirements & Skills
We are looking for a Specialist Teaching Assistant who has:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, or Autism specifically.
A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care, or equivalent).
A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to working with children who have significant additional needs.
An understanding of communication and sensory support strategies.
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
