Specification Technologist
Location: UK
Salary: Circa £28,500 + benefits
Monday – Friday | 40 hours per week
Are you looking to build your career within food manufacturing technical or specification management?
A growing food business is looking for a Specification Technologist to join their technical team, supporting the management of customer specifications, supplier information and technical documentation across the business.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their technical career who enjoys working with data, compliance and food safety requirements in a fast-moving environment.
The Role
Working closely with the Technical team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring product information and customer specifications are accurate, compliant and delivered right first time.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Completing customer assurance documentation including specifications, SAQs and risk assessments
* Managing customer technical portals and specification platforms
* Setting up and approving product specifications in line with customer requirements
* Maintaining the technical information database
* Reviewing supplier specifications to ensure regulatory and labelling compliance
* Supporting BRCGS audit preparation and wider technical compliance activities
* Responding to customer technical information requests
* Supporting wider technical and quality team projects when required
What We’re Looking For
* Degree educated (or equivalent)
* Strong attention to detail and highly organised
* Good understanding of food legislation and regulatory requirements
* Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Strong communication skills across teams and departments
Desirable:
* Experience within the food manufacturing industry
* Specification writing experience
* HACCP knowledge
* Food safety experience
