Are you an experienced Specification Technologist looking for your next step in a supportive and forward-thinking food manufacturing environment?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established Leeds-based food manufacturer, known for supplying high-quality products to a range of retailers and food service providers. The business continues to grow and is now looking to add a Specification Technologist to their Technical team to support ongoing product development and compliance requirements.
As a Specification Technologist, you’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate specifications for retailer systems, ensuring products meet customer, legal, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Completing and updating retailer specifications using retailer portals (e.g. Tesco, Asda, M&S, etc.)
* Managing artwork checks and packaging sign-off for compliance
* Supporting the NPD team with new product launches and reformulations
* Ensuring technical data (ingredients, allergens, nutrition, etc.) is correct and up to date
* Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers to gather accurate information
* Ensuring compliance with food legislation and customer requirements
What you'll need:
* Previous experience in a specifications or technical role within the food industry
* Strong understanding of retailer specification systems
* Good knowledge of food labelling regulations, allergens, and nutritional information
* High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* Ability to work cross-functionally with NPD, Technical, and Supply Chain teams
