Job Description

My client is a large food manufacturing producer seeking a European Specifications Technologist to join their Group Technical team. The primary purpose of the role: To support and create the businesses and Customer Finished Product Specifications. To support the European Technical Manager, providing technical information of relevance for the group's sites as requested. Main Accountabilities: Work closely with the Development team on all new product development and ensure that relevant legislative pack copy information is correct and available on time to meet development and launch timescales. Prepare and check pack copy/artwork in accordance with customer requirements. Prepare, check, and gain approval for all customer product specifications and ensure they are reviewed and updated as required. Maintain all customer specification portals ensuring all information is up to date and accurate. Reviewing and supporting the availability of raw material and packaging specifications to the Intake Teams / Technical teams across the European sites Key Characteristics: * In-depth knowledge of EU and UK Food Law. * In-depth knowledge of Customer Specification and web-based systems, specifically JS, Waitrose, M&S, and Tesco. * Good organisational and methodical skills with an excellent eye for detail. * Ability to prioritise tasks. * Degree-level qualification in a Food or Science-related subject. * Fully trained in the use of Retailer web-based systems. * Previous experience required * A minimum of 5 years of experience within a Technical function in the Food Manufacturing Industry, supported by a minimum of 3 years working as a specification and legislation technologist in the food industry. * Experience having worked within the NPD function in a Food Manufacturing environment would be advantageous. * Personal Qualities / Behaviours * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Drives performance through dedication and effort. * Requires minimal supervision. * Can be relied upon to do an accurate job (right first time), whilst working to pressurised deadlines. * Excellent close attention to detail and accuracy of work. * Takes full ownership of the required task, ensuring follow-through to completion. * Good interpersonal skills and a professional approach. What's on offer?
