We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join our team from September 2025. This full-time position is ideal for someone with experience or training in supporting pupils with speech and language difficulties within a school or early years environment.
🌟 About the Role:
Work closely with pupils identified as having speech, language, or communication needs
Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions under the guidance of a Speech and Language Therapist or SENCo
Support classroom learning and ensure access to the curriculum for all pupils
Assist with observations, tracking progress, and feeding back to staff and parents
Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment✅ What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children with speech and language needs (in school or other settings)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
Ability to follow and implement personalised support plans
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Teaching Assistant Level 2/3, or training in SALT desirable)🎓 Ideal Candidates May Have:
A background in education, child development, or speech therapy
Knowledge of PECS, Makaton or similar communication systems (desirable)
