Speech & Language Teaching Assistant | Waltham Forest Location: Waltham Forest, E17 (commutable from Stratford, Ilford, Leyton, Hackney, Tottenham) Pay: £105-£115 per day Contract Type: Ongoing Working Days: 2 days per week Start Date: ASAP A primary school in Waltham Forest is looking for a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), particularly across Early Years and KS1. You'll be working 1:1 and in small groups to deliver targeted interventions, helping pupils with developmental language disorder (DLD), autism, and ADHD to communicate confidently and access the curriculum. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with SLCN through structured, evidence-based interventions Use strategies such as Colourful Semantics, Shape Coding, and visual supports Work closely with the SENCo and external professionals to monitor progress Create a calm, inclusive environment that supports language development Keep clear records and contribute to EHCP reviewsCandidate Requirements: Experience supporting children with speech and language needs in school or clinical settings Knowledge of tools such as narrative therapy, Lego Therapy, or phonics Confident, compassionate, and proactive approach Degree in Speech & Language Therapy, Linguistics, Psychology or similar (ideal but not essential)Why Join Us?
