Speech and Language Teaching Assistant
Camden, NW1 (commutable from Kentish Town, Belsize Park, Hampstead, Chalk Farm, King's Cross)
£105-£115 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, long-term (Full Academic Year)
Long Term Futures is seeking a motivated and insightful SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive Year 3 class within a highly supportive primary provision in Camden. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with a passion for speech and language development and communication support, looking to build specialist experience in a school that truly values its staff and inclusive ethos.
About the Role
You'll play a key role in supporting the class as well as two pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) - one with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and another with speech and language communication needs. Working closely with the class teacher and Speech & Language Therapist, your day-to-day will include:
Supporting pupils in accessing learning and developing confidence within the classroom.
Delivering targeted speech and language programmes under professional guidance.
Encouraging social interaction and communication through structured group activities.
Supporting emotional regulation and helping pupils build resilience and independence.
Providing interventions that promote engagement, listening, and participation.Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience supporting children with ASD and communication needs, ideally in a KS2 setting.
Keen interest in speech and language therapy, psychology, or child development.
Clear, patient communicator who can adapt their approach to individual needs.
