Locum Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist Band 6
Location: Mainstream Primary & Secondary Schools across Lewisham, with a team base at Kaleidoscope Centre, Catford, SE6 4JF

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday)

* We are looking for an experienced and motivated Band 6 Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and dedicated team, delivering high-quality services to children and young people aged 5–18 years in mainstream primary and secondary schools across the borough of Lewisham.
* Based at our team hub at Kaleidoscope Centre in Catford, you’ll play a key role in supporting children with a range of speech, language, and communication needs, including those with complex presentations, to thrive in their educational and social environments.
What You'll Be Doing
* Independently assess, diagnose, and manage children with a range of communication difficulties, some of which may be highly complex.
* Work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver holistic, child-centred assessment and intervention.
* Support school staff in creating inclusive learning environments and contribute to EHCP assessments and reviews.
* Monitor caseload outcomes using evidence-based practice, considering cultural and linguistic differences.
* Make appropriate referrals to other services such as Audiology or the Communication Clinic for ASC confirmation.
* Support the development and implementation of innovative service delivery models.
* Maintain accurate, high-quality documentation in line with Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust policies.
* Contribute to safeguarding and clinical supervision, both giving and receiving support.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration.
* Clinical experience working with school-aged children (preferably in mainstream settings).
* Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
* Confident in managing a varied caseload and prioritising needs effectively.
* Passionate about promoting inclusive communication and improving outcomes for children.
* Familiarity with NHS standards and commitment to high-quality, child-centred care
