Uniform Education is working with a specialist SEN school in Uxbridge to recruit a skilled and motivated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist. The school provides tailored education for pupils with Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and associated sensory and communication needs.
About the Role:
As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, you will:
* Assess, plan, and deliver therapy programmes tailored to pupils’ individual communication profiles
* Provide direct and indirect intervention using a range of approaches, including AAC systems (PECS, Makaton, high-tech devices)
* Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and other therapists to embed communication strategies across the curriculum
* Support staff and parents/carers with training, guidance, and advice to promote consistent communication support
* Contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews, and progress reports
* Supervise junior therapists or assistants as appropriate
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration
* Experience working with children and young people with SEN, ASC, SLD, or PMLD
* Skilled in using a range of communication tools, including low-tech and high-tech AAC systems
* Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills
* Compassionate, patient, and committed to improving outcomes for pupils with complex needs
