If so, Academics are seeking a highly motivated Speech, Language and Communication Needs Teaching Assistant to join the inclusive primary school located in Chelmsford, Essex. This role is to start as soon as possible. About the school: The school supports a large number of students with a range of Special Needs and Disabilities. They pride ourselves on delivering tailored education that meets the unique needs of each student, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.Speech, Language and Communication Needs Teaching Assistant Requirements: Experience and knowledge of social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). Bachelor's degree in speech and language pathology, communication disorders, or a related field. Experience working with children with speech, language and communication difficulties (previous experience in an educational setting is highly desirable). Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues. Be aware of and knowledgeable about different additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, MLD and SEMH.Speech, Language and Communication Needs Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons. To work with children on a 1:1 and small group basis to help overcome their barriers to learning. Assisting the speech and language therapist in implementing individualised therapy plans. Conducting one-on-one or small group sessions with students to practice speech and language skills. Monitoring and documenting student progress and adjusting therapy techniques accordingly. Collaborating with teachers and parents to develop strategies for incorporating speech and language goals into the classroom and home environments.
