The Role – Sports Teaching Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Sports Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary PRU in Lambeth. This role will involve working closely with students aged 11–16 who have been referred due to behavioural challenges, SEMH needs, or complex barriers to learning that cannot be met in mainstream schools.
As a Sports Teaching Assistant, you’ll deliver structured physical activities and use sport as a tool to help students regulate their behaviour, develop teamwork skills, and build self-confidence. You will also provide tailored 1:1 support and work with small groups, helping young people re-engage with learning both inside and outside the classroom.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people who present with SEMH, ADHD, trauma backgrounds, or additional needs, and will demonstrate a calm, consistent, and motivating approach.
The School – Secondary PRU in Lambeth
Situated in the vibrant Borough of Lambeth, this secondary PRU supports around 90 students aged 11–16 with a wide range of needs, including SEMH, ADHD, and complex personal histories. The school provides a therapeutic, highly structured environment, offering tailored learning pathways and dedicated pastoral support to help students succeed.
