Working Hours: 37 hours per week (flexitime between 8am and 8pm, with some weekend and bank holiday work)
Pay Rate:
PAYE: £15.08 per hour
Umbrella: £16.28 per hour
About the Role:
Staffordshire County Council is looking for an experienced and motivated Youth Offending Practitioner (SYOS Practitioner) to join the Families First team within the Specialist Safeguarding Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with young people, helping them to achieve better outcomes, reduce reoffending, and integrate successfully into the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload in line with Youth Justice Board Case Management and Risk Policy.
Prepare high-quality reports for court and attend court as needed.
Deliver 1:1 and group interventions addressing issues such as substance misuse, reparation, and resettlement.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partner agencies.
Contribute to restorative justice practices and ensure compliance with national standards.
Provide support to young people at risk of offending, including multi-agency responses to complex needs like homelessness or substance misuse.
About You:
Relevant qualifications/experience in youth work or criminal justice.
Proven experience in face-to-face work with young people.
Understanding of the Criminal Justice System and current youth justice legislation.
Excellent communication, engagement, and motivational skills.
Ability to manage complex caseloads and work both independently and as part of a team.
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
