Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Steel Draughtsperson/Detailer to join our well-established steel fabrication company. Supplying a wide range of steel solutions across multiple industries, we are looking for a talented individual with proven experience in steel detailing and strong knowledge of TEKLA Structures or similar 3D CAD packages.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, liaise with clients and engineers, and play a key role in the delivery of high-quality fabrication drawings.
Key Responsibilities
*
Prepare and issue 3D general arrangement drawings and 2D/3D fabrication drawings for small steel items and larger fabricated structures
*
Produce material take-offs and bolt lists for projects
*
Liaise with clients, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate detailing and design solutions
*
Apply standardised design practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support smooth fabrication and installation
*
Ensure all drawings are accurate, detailed, and compliant with project requirements
The Ideal Candidate
*
Previous experience working in the steelwork industry producing fabrication drawings
*
Strong knowledge and practical use of TEKLA Structures (or similar 3D steel detailing software)
*
Confident user of Microsoft Office applications
*
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams
*
Knowledge of fabrication and site fitting methods for steelwork (desirable)
*
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
